US Airways A320 at San Diego on Apr 15th 2014, flaps problem
A US Airways Airbus A320-200, registration N667AW performing flight US-669 from Phialdelphia,PA to San Diego,CA (USA) with 104 people on board, was on approach to San Diego cleared to join the localizer for runway 27 when the crew reported a flaps problem and requested to enter a hold to work the checklists. The aircraft maintained 5000 feet for about 15 minutes, then climbed to 7000 feet upon ATC instruction. Despite all efforts taking 65 minutes in the hold the crew was unable to resolve the problem with the flaps, declared emergency and performed a safe landing on San Diego's runway 27 (length 9400 feet/2865 meters) at a higher than normal speed about one hour behind schedule, slowed safely and vacated the runway.
