UPS MD11 near Bangkok on Sep 24th 2014, control problems

A UPS McDonnell Douglas MD-11, registration N289UP performing flight 5X-3 from Hong Kong (China) to Dubai (United Arab Emirates), was enroute at FL300 about 170nm west of Bangkok (Thailand) when the crew declared emergency reporting lateral control problems, descended the aircraft to FL200 and decided to divert to Bangkok initiating a fuel dump, that continued until just short of touch down. The aircraft landed safely on Bangkok's runway 01L about 45 minutes after leaving FL300.

The aircraft was able to continue the flight as 5X-3D after about 25 hours on the ground in Bangkok.
