A United Airbus A320-200, registration N411UA performing flight UA-412 (scheduled dep Apr 25th, actual dep Apr 26th) from San Francisco,CA (USA) to Mexico City (Mexico) with 151 people on board, was climbing out of San Francisco's runway 01L when the crew reported they had a flaps lockout problem and requested to stop the climb at 5000 feet to work the checklists. The crew subsequently reported they needed to return to San Francisco and requested the longest runway available, in particular runway 28R. The aircraft landed safely on runway 28R at a higher than normal speed about 30 minutes after departure. The crew subsequently indicated they felt everything was okay, vacated the runway and taxied to the apron.
The flight was cancelled.
