Singapore A333 at Singapore on Feb 5th 2014, gear door remained open

A Singapore Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration 9V-STG performing flight SQ-528 from Singapore (Singapore) to Chennai (India), was climbing out of Singapore's runway 02C when the left hand main gear door did not close after retracting the gear. The crew stopped the climb at 8000 feet and returned to Singapore for a safe landing on runway 02C about 30 minutes after departure.

A replacement Airbus A330-300 registration 9V-STR reached Chennai with a delay of 4 hours.
