Qatar B788 near Ankara on Aug 6th 2014, engine problems

A Qatar Airways Boeing 787-800, registration A7-BCG performing flight QR-159 from Doha (Qatar) to Copenhagen (Denmark), was enroute at FL400 about 115nm north of Ankara (Turkey) when the crew decided to divert to Ankara due to a problem with an engine (GEnx), but advised they were about to perform a normal landing. The aircraft landed safely on Ankara's runway 03L about 30 minutes later.

A replacement Boeing 787-800 registration A7-BCN was dispatched to Ankara and reached Copenhagen with a delay of 9 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Ankara 57 hours after landing.
