Maswings DHC6 at Bario on Nov 27th 2013, runway excursion during turn to backtrack
A Maswings de Havilland DHC-6-300 Twin Otter on behalf of Malaysia Airlines, registration 9M-MDK performing flight MH-3434 from Miri to Bario (Malaysia) with 13 passengers and 2 crew, had safely landed on Bario's runway 11, taxied to the end of the runway to turn around to backtrack to the terminal when after the turn was nearly completed the right hand main gear went off paved surface causing the aircraft to get stuck. The passengers disembarked onto the runway, there were no injuries and no damage to the aircraft.
The aircraft was subsequently moved back onto paved surface, examined and released to conduct the return flight MH-3435 to Miri with a delay of 5:40 hours.
The airline confirmed the aircraft had safely landed concluding flight MH-3434 when the right hand main gear went off the runway near the end of runway 11 while turning around towards the terminal.
