Malaysia A333 near Hong Kong on Mar 23rd 2014, generator failure

A Malaysia Airlines Airbus A330-300, registration 9M-MTC performing flight MH-66 from Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) to Seoul Incheon (South Korea) with 271 passengers, was enroute at FL370 about 180nm southwest of Hong Kong (China) when the aircraft began a descent towards Hong Kong. The aircraft diverted to Hong Kong for a safe landing about 30 minutes later.

The airline reported the aircraft diverted to Hong Kong due to an inoperative generator. The APU continued to deliver electrical power however. The remainder of the flight and the return flight MH-67 were cancelled, the passengers rebooked onto other carriers.
