Loganair SF34 near Inverness on May 22nd 2014, icing
A Loganair Saab 340 on behalf of Flybe, registration G-LGNJ performing flight BE-6774 from Aberdeen,SC to Shetland Islands,SC (UK) with 33 passengers and 4 crew, was enroute at FL170 over the North Sea about 30 minutes into the flight when the crew noticed an ice buid up on the airframe and declared emergency. The aircraft turned around, descended to FL100 then to FL070 and diverted to Inverness,SC (UK) for a safe landing.
A replacement aircraft delivered the passengers to Shetland Island's Sumburgh Airport.
