Air France B772 at Cape Town on Dec 3rd 2013, could not retract nose gear
An Air France Boeing 777-200, registration F-GSPE performing flight AF-521 from Cape Town (South Africa) to Paris Charles de Gaulle (France), was climbing out of Cape Town's runway 19 when upon retracting the landing gear the nose gear remained extended. The crew stopped the climb at FL100, dumped fuel and returned to Cape Town for a safe landing on runway 19 about 70 minutes after departure.
The aircraft was able to depart again after about 110 minutes on the ground and reached Paris with a delay of 3 hours.
The airline reported the aircraft returned to Cape Town for technical checks.
