US Airways A333 near Gander on May 24th 2014, fuel became unusable

A US Airways Airbus A330-300, registration N272AY performing flight US-729 from London Heathrow,EN (UK) to Philadelphia,PA (USA) with 296 people on board, was enroute at FL360 about 200nm northeast of Gander,NL (Canada) when the crew determined 12,100lbs of fuel in the left outer trim fuel tank could not be transferred for use, the flight thus could not make it to destination. The crew initiated a diversion to Stephenville,NL (Canada), then changed to Bangor,ME (USA) and finally landed safely in Boston,MA (USA).

The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the faulty left inner fuel tank actuator.
