United B752 over Pacific on May 10th 2014, smoke in cockpit and cabin

A United Boeing 757-200, registration N29124 performing flight UA-1296 from Los Angeles,CA to Honolulu,HI (USA) with 150 people on board, was enroute at FL340 about 70 minutes into the flight when the crew decided to return to Los Angeles reporting smoke in cockpit and cabin. The aircraft landed safely back in Los Angeles about 2.5 hours after departure.
