United B738 at Pohnpei on Jul 7th 2014, bird strike

A United Boeing 737-800, registration N26232 performing flight UA-155 from Chuuk to Pohnpei (Micronesia), was on approach to Pohnpei when the right hand engine (CFM56) suffered a bird strike. The aircraft continued for a safe landing at Pohnpei.

The FAA reported the right hand engine received damage to 8 fan blades.

The aircraft was unable to continue the rotation, a replacement Boeing 737-800 registration N35236 reached the next destination Kosrae with a delay of 6.5 hours.
