A THY Turkish Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration TC-JVE performing flight TK-346 from Istanbul (Turkey) to Bishkek (Kyrgyzstan) with 121 people on board, was in the initial climb out of Istanbul Ataturk Airport's runway 35L when the aircraft flew through a flock of birds and ingested at least one bird into one of the engines (CFM56) prompting the crew to return to Istanbul for a safe landing about 50 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration TC-JHF reached Bishkek with a delay of 4 hours.
