TAP A332 at Brasilia on May 7th 2014, bird strike
A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-200, registration CS-TON performing flight TP-60 from Brasilia,DF (Brazil) to Lisbon (Portugal) with 258 passengers and 11 crew, was in the initial climb out of Brasilia's runway 11L when a number of birds impacted the aircraft causing damage to one of the engines (CF6). The crew levelled off at 5500 feet and returned to Brasilia for a safe landing on runway 11R about 17 minutes after departure.
The flight was postponed to the next day, the passengers were taken to hotels.
The airline confirmed a bird was ingested into one of the engines.
