S7 A320 at Dubai on Apr 19th 2014, runway incursion

A S7 Sibir Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration VQ-BES performing flight S7-866 from Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to Novosibirsk (Russia), was taxiing for departure instructed to hold short of holding point MIKE 2 (about 3220 meters/10570 feet down runway 30R, about 370 meters/1200 feet short of the runway end of runway 30R), however went past the holding point and entered runway 30R.

The BEA reported in their weekly bulletin that a Boeing 777 was taking off on the active runway 30R at that time at 18:34L (14:34Z). The Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates is investigation the runway incursion rated a serious incident.

According to radar data an Emirates Boeing 777-200 registration A6-EMG performing flight EK-602 from Dubai to Karachi (Pakistan) was departing runway 30R at about 18:34L.
