Republic E170 at Washington on Mar 31st 2014, bird strike

A Republic Airlines Embraer ERJ-170 on behalf of US Airways, registration N101HQ performing flight YX-3387/US-3387 from Manchester,NH to Washington National,DC (USA), landed on Ronald Reagan Airport's runway 01 when just at about crossing the runway threshold a bird impacted the aircraft in the area of the nose gear. The aircraft continued for a safe landing and taxied to the apron.

The next aircraft on approach to runway 01 swung over to runway 33, the next departure having lined up behind the landing aircraft waited until a runway inspection recovered the carcass of a bird from near the numbers of runway 01.

The FAA reported a bird impacted and damaged a pitot tube.
