Jetblue A320 at Orlando on Jan 28th 2014, bird strike
A Jetblue Airbus A320-200, registration N763JB performing flight B6-656 from Orlando,FL to Syracuse,NY (USA), departed Orlando's runway 17R when the crew just before being handed off to departure reported a bird strike into the engine (V2527). The aircraft stopped the climb at 3000 feet and returned to Orlando for a safe landing on runway 18L about 12 minutes after departure.
The FAA reported the right hand engine was damaged.
A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration N571JB reached Syracuse with a delay of 100 minutes.
