Finnair A319 at Helsinki on May 20th 2014, engine vibrations
A Finnair Airbus A319-100, registration OH-LVI performing flight AY-517 from Helsinki to Kuopio (Finland) with 58 passengers, was in the climb out of Helsinki's runway 22R when the right hand engine started to suffer strong vibrations. The crew stopped the climb at about FL100 and returned to Helsinki for a safe landing on runway 22L about 15 minutes after departure.
A replacement Airbus A319-100 registration OH-LVA reached Kuopio with a delay of 2 hours.
The airline reported the aircraft returned to Helsinki for a normal landing. The increased engine vibrations were the result of a fractured turbine blade.
