Expressjet CRJ7 near Atlanta on Jan 8th 2014, loss of cabin pressure
An Expressjet Canadair CRJ-700 on behalf of Delta Airlines, flight EV-4913/DL-4913 from Atlanta,GA to Oklahoma City,OK (USA), was climbing through FL300 out of Atlanta when the crew initiated an emergency descent due to the loss of cabin pressure reaching 10,000 feet 7 minutes later. The aircraft returned to Atlanta for a safe landing about 25 minutes later.
A passenger reported a loud bang occurred immediately followed by the ears popping and the aircraft settling in a steep descent. The passenger oxygen masks were not released. The flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.
The rotation to and from Oklahoma City was cancelled.
