Egyptair B738 near Accra on May 19th 2014, engine shut down in flight
An Egyptair Boeing 737-800, registration SU-GDX performing flight MS-881 from Cairo (Egypt) to Accra (Ghana) with 110 passengers, was descending towards Accra when the crew needed to shut an engine (CFM56) down. The aircraft continued for a safe landing in Accra.
The onward flight to Abidjan (Cote d'Ivoire) as well as the return legs MS-882 via Accra needed to be cancelled.
