American B772 over Gulf of Mexico on Sep 21st 2014, cabin pressure problems
An American Airlines Boeing 777-200, registration N797AN performing flight AA-997 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) to Buenos Aires,BA (Argentina) with 223 passengers, was enroute at FL350 over the Gulf of Mexico when the crew initiated a descent to FL200 due to problems with the cabin pressure. The aircraft returned to Dallas Ft. Worth for a safe landing about 4 hours after departure.
A replacement Boeing 777-200 registration N790AN is estimated to reach Buenos Aires with a delay of 14 hours.
