Air Berlin B737 at Stuttgart on Nov 7th 2013, captain incapacitated during approach

An Air Berlin Boeing 737-700, registration D-AHXJ performing flight AB-6661 from Hamburg to Stuttgart (Germany), was on approach to Stuttgart descending through about FL070 when the captain complained about health related trouble and was impaired in his actions. The first officer, pilot flying, also assumed the functions of pilot monitoring and continued the approach for a safe landing on Stuttgart's runway 25 about 8 minutes later.

Germany's BFU reported in their November Bulletin released in February 2014, that during approach to Stuttgart, at about 19:00L (18:00Z), the captain complained about health related problems and was impaired in his actions. The first officer therefore also assumed the role of pilot monitoring and completed a safe landing. The BFU is investigating the occurrence rated a serious incident.
