Aeroflot SU95 at Moscow on Feb 14th 2014, lost part of engine cowling
An Aeroflot Sukhoi Superjet 100-95, registration RA-89023 performing flight SU-1808 (scheduled dep Feb 13th, actual departure Feb 14th) from Moscow Sheremetyevo (Russia) to Odessa (Ukraine), was climbing through FL220 when the crew stopped the climb and decided to return to Sheremetyevo Airport due to the left hand engine (SaM146) access doors opening in flight and parts of the door separating from the engine. The aircraft entered a hold at 8000 feet to burn off fuel and landed safely back about 105 minutes after departure.
The flight was cancelled.
The airline reported the engine cowling opened due to a gust on departure.
