Aer Lingus A320 at Dublin on Jul 3rd 2014, engine problem
An Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200, registration EI-DES performing flight EI-742 from Dublin (Ireland) to Santiago de Compostela,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Dublin's runway 28 when the crew reported upon contacting departure, that they had an engine (CFM56) problem, they may have hit a bird just after takeoff. A few minutes later the crew declared PAN reporting again they had engine damage and vibrations and suspected a bird strike. Traffic at Dublin was halted immediately for a runway inspection, no debris was reported. The aircraft landed safely on Dubin's runway 28 about 15 minutes after departure.
A replacement A320 registration EI-DEM is estimated to reach Santiago de Compostela with a delay of 2.5 hours.
