Transat A313 at Toronto on Feb 13th 2014, unsafe gear

An Air Transat Airbus A310-300, registration C-GTSH performing flight TS-46 from Rio de Janeiro,RJ (Brazil) to Toronto,ON (Canada) with 2 crew, was on approach to Toronto's runway 06L when the crew went around reporting an unsafe gear indication. The aircraft entered a hold, the crew performed an alternate gear extension and managed to extend and lock all gear. The aircraft landed safely on runway 06R about 20 minutes after the go-around and was towed off the runway.

The Canadian TSB reported the crew performed a gravity gear extension which resulted in extended and locked indications for all gear. The nose gear steering was unavailable due to the gravity extension requiring the aircraft to be towed to the apron. Maintenance replaced a faulty telescopic strut.
