TAP A332 over Atlantic on Mar 9th 2014, engine problem
A TAP Air Portugal Airbus A330-200, registration CS-TOM performing flight TP-11 from Lisbon (Portugal) to Recife,PE (Brasil) with 286 people on board, was enroute over the Atlantic Ocean when the crew noticed the oil quantity for the right hand engine (CF6) decreased. The crew decided to divert to Sal (Cape Verde) for a safe landing.
The incident aircraft was able to continue the flight after 14 hours on the ground in Sal and reached Recife with a delay of 15 hours.
Passengers reported the captain announced the right hand engine was consuming too much oil.
