Starbow B463 at Accra on Aug 9th 2014, engine shut down in flight
A Starbow Airlines British Aerospace 146-300, flight S9-100 from Accra to Kuamsi (Ghana), was climbing out of Accra when one of the right hand engines emitted a loud bang and streaks of flames prompting the crew to shut the engine down and return to Accra for a safe landing.
The airline confirmed the aircraft suffered a technical problem while climbing through 3000 feet but denied passenger reports of an engine fire. The crew worked the related checklists and returned to Accra's Kotoka Airport for a safe landing shortly after takeoff.
