Smartlynx Estonia A320 at Tallinn on Jul 31st 2014, tail strike on landing

A Smartlynx Estonia Airbus A320-200, registration ES-SAL performing flight MYX-8568 from Bourgas (Bulgaria) to Tallinn (Estonia) with 180 passengers and 6 crew, landed on Tallinn's runway 08 at about 11:47L (08:47Z) but struck its tail onto the runway prior to the main gear touching down. The aircraft rolled out without further incident. There were no injuries, the aircraft received damage to its tail section however.

The airline confirmed the aircraft sustained a tailstrike on landing, the captain was experienced with more than 6,000 hours of experience. The extent of the damage is being assessed.

Estonia's Aircraft Accident Investigation Department stated they are reviewing the occurrence but it is not yet decided whether an investigation will be opened.
