Malta A320 over Tyrrhenian Sea on Nov 4th 2014, cracked windshield
An Air Malta Airbus A320-200, registration 9H-AEK performing flight KM-116 from Malta (Malta) to London Gatwick,EN (UK), was enroute at FL360 about 130nm northwest of Palermo (Italy) over the Tyrrhenian Sea when the crew decided to return to Malta due to a cracked windshield. The aircraft landed safely back in Malta about one hours later.
A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration 9H-AEP reached London Gatwick with a delay of 3 hours.
The airline reported the aircraft returned to Malta for technical reasons.
