LAN A320 at Cuzco on Sep 24th 2014, technical problems

A LAN Airlines Airbus A320-200, registration CC-BFN performing flight LA-2034 from Cuzco to Lima (Peru), departed Cuzco's runway 10. The crew stopped the climb at 18000 feet and entered a hold reporting technical problems. After about 30 minutes the crew decided to return to Cuzco where the aircraft landed safely on runway 28 about 60 minutes after departure, emergency services checked the aircraft then followed the aircraft to the apron.

The occurrence aircraft was able to depart again about 2.5 hours later and reached Lima with a delay of about 3 hours.

A passenger reported that during the takeoff run from runway 10, just prior to rotation, a brief jolt occurred, the aircraft subsequently rotated and climbed out, but stopped the climb and entered a hold east of Cuzco. About 30 minutes after departure the captain announced they had technical problems and needed to return to Cuzco. The flaps were extended normally and the aircraft landed safely on runway 28 with blue lights flashing around the runway. After arrival at the stand the passengers were asked to remain seated, about 10 minutes later the passengers were asked to disembark. Mechanics were intensely working on the left main gear at that point. About 2.5 hours after landing the passengers were asked back on board of the aircraft which reached Lima with a delay of 3 hours. After arrival in Lima mechanics were again working on the left main gear.
