KLM B744 at Amsterdam on Oct 1st 2014, runway excursion on landing

A KLM Boeing 747-400, registration PH-BFN performing flight KL-566 (dep Sep 30th) from Nairobi (Kenya) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), performed an automatic landing on runway 18R, after disconnecting the autopilot for a manual roll out the aircraft veered sharply to the right and came to a stop with the nose gear to the right of the runway edge on soft ground at 05:59L (03:59Z). No injuries occurred, the aircraft sustained minor if any damage.

The crew advised air traffic control, that after disconnecting the autopilot on the ground for a manual roll out a technical malfunction occurred that caused the aircraft to veer sharply to the right. The aircraft's nose gear was to the right of the runway's sector 2 on grass.

A number of aircraft on (final) approach to runway 18R needed to be pulled off the approach.
