KLM B739 at Amsterdam on Aug 31st 2014, could not retract landing gear

A KLM Boeing 737-900, registration PH-BXT performing flight KL-1109 from Amsterdam (Netherlands) to Stockholm (Sweden), was climbing out of runway 36L when the crew requested to stop the climb at 3000 feet reporting they were unable to raise the landing gear. The aircraft returned to Amsterdam for a safe landing on runway 27 about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement Boeing 737-800 registration PH-BCB reached Stockholm with a delay of 3 hours.

The occurrence aircraft is still on the ground in Amsterdam about 8 hours after landing.
