Jayawijaya B732 at Wamena on Aug 30th 2014, burst tyres during backtrack
A Jayawijaya Dirgantara Boeing 737-200, registration PK-JRB performing a freight flight from Jayapura to Wamena (Indonesia), had safely landed at Wamena at 13:05L (04:05Z). While turning around on the runway to backtrack the runway towards the apron the aircraft burst both one nose tyres causing the aircraft to become disabled on the runway. The aircraft was towed off the runway.
Indoensian media report a forklift was used to tow the aircraft off the runway.
Papua's Police reported a Boeing 737-200 of Jayawijaya Airlines skidded after landing in Wamena while turning around to backtrack the runway causing both nose gear tyres to burst. There were no injuries and no other damage. The runway returned to service at 13:50L.
