Egypt A320 at Juba on Sep 8th 2014, bird strike
An Egypt Air Airbus A320-200, registration SU-GBC performing flight MS-859 from Cairo (Egypt) to Juba (South Sudan) with 76 passengers, was on approach to Juba when the aircraft received a bird strike causing a cracked windshield. The aircraft continued for a safe landing.
The return flight MS-860 was postponed to the next day.
Passengers waiting for the return flight reported they were told the aircraft received a bird strike, which caused a crack in the windshield, the crew did not deem safe to fly the aircraft. The passengers were taken to hotels and have been advised a replacement flight would be available the following day departing Juba with a delay of 22.5 hours.
