Easyjet A319 at Manchester on Oct 26th 2014, engine problem
An Easyjet Airbus A319-100, registration G-EZFN performing flight U2-1923 from Manchester,EN (UK) to Malaga,SP (Spain), was climbing out of Manchester when the crew stopped the climb and entered a hold at FL100 due to an engine (CFM56) problem and returned to Manchester for a safe landing about 35 minutes after departure.
A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration G-EZUC reached Malaga with a delay of 4:15 hours.
The occurrence aircraft was able to resume service about 6 hours after landing.
A passenger reported the captain announced an indicated fault on the right hand engine, the engine however appeared to be working normally. The aircraft performed a normal approach and landing back to Manchester with emergency services on stand by.
