Delta B752 near Orlando on Oct 9th 2014, hydraulic failure
A Delta Airlines Boeing 757-200, registration N6714Q performing flight DL-1332 from Fort Meyers,FL to Atlanta,GA (USA), was enroute at FL380 about 100nm northwest of Orlando,FL (USA) when the crew reported a hydraulic failure requiring them to stop on the runway and be towed to the apron. The crew decided to divert to Orlando and requested the longest runway 18R, ATC advising the runway was closed and runway 18L only available (both 12000 feet), the crew again querying for 18R and accepting only after ATC repeated 18R was closed and could not be opened. The crew requested delay vectors to be able to extend the flaps and gear and a long final to get a nice stable approach and landed safely on runway 18L, rolled to the end of the runway and stopped waiting for a tug. Emergency services inspected the aircraft for a possible leak and brakes issues reporting the brakes were warm, not hot, and no visible leaks.
A replacement Boeing 757-200 registration N544US reached Atlanta with a delay of 4:45 hours.
