Delta B744 near Omaha on Jul 24th 2014, hydraulic failure
A Delta Airlines Boeing 747-400, registration N666US performing flight DL-295 from Atlanta,GA (USA) to Tokyo Narita (Japan), was enroute at FL300 about 70nm northwest of Omaha,NE when the crew decided to divert to Detroit,MI (USA) due to a hydraulic failure. The aircraft descended to FL290 enroute to Detroit and about 105 minutes later landed safely on Detroit's runway 04R at a higher than normal speed with the inboard trailing edge flaps (actuated by hydraulic system #1, also nose and body gear steering) remaining retracted.
The remainder of the flight was cancelled.
