Argentinas A343 at Rome on Jun 17th 2014, engine oil problem
An Aerolineas Argentinas Airbus A340-300, registration LV-CSE performing flight AR-1141 from Rome Fiumicino (Italy) to Buenos Aires Ezeiza,BA (Argentina), was climbing out of Fiumicino Airport when the crew stopped the climb at FL070 reporting a #1 engine (CFM56, outboard left) low oil quantity indication. After working the checklists the crew decided to dump fuel and return to Rome for a safe landing on runway 34L about 2 hours after departure.
The aircraft is still on the ground at Fiumicino Airport 17 hours after landing back.
