American MD82 near El Paso on Jun 14th 2014, engine shut down in flight
An American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration N7549A performing flight AA-1551 from San Jose Cabo (Mexico) to Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) with 145 people on board, was enroute near El Paso,TX (USA) when the crew reported they needed to shut the right hand engine down due to an oil indication. The aircraft diverted to El Paso for a safe landing on runway 22.
The airline reported the crew reported a maintenance indicator light.
A replacement MD-83 registration N962TW reached Dallas with a delay of 6 hours.
