American MD82 at Dallas on Jan 22nd 2014, could not retract nose gear

An American Airlines McDonnell Douglas MD-82, registration N7542A performing flight AA-2264 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to Philadelphia,PA (USA), could not retract the nose gear during climb out of Dallas, evident also by the wind noise from the nose gear. The crew stopped the climb at 5000 feet and returned to Dallas for a safe landing about 20 minutes after departure.

A replacement MD-82 registration N7526A reached Philadelphia with a delay of 4 hours.
