American B738 at Vancouver on Nov 24th 2013, stab trim problem
An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N982AN performing flight AA-1189 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX (USA) to Vancouver,BC (Canada), was descending towards Vancouver when the crew declared emergency reporting an electrical stabilizer trim problem. The aircraft continued for a safe landing on Vancouver's runway 26L about 5 minutes later.
The return flight was cancelled.
The Canadian TSB reported maintenance replaced the stabilizer trim motor and annotated: "As per engineering change order (ECO) J1587, improved stabilizer trim motors are being installed fleet wide but had not yet been accomplished on this aircraft."
