American B738 near Indianapolis on Apr 13th 2014, engine shut down in flight

An American Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N983AN performing flight AA-64 from Dallas Ft. Worth,TX to New York JFK,NY (USA) with 149 people on board, was enroute at FL370 about 170nm southwest of Indianapolis,IN (USA) when the crew needed to shut an engine (CFM56) down and diverted to Indianapolis. The crew advised they were single engine, no fire indication was active. The aircraft landed safely on Indianapolis' runway 23R, vacated the runway and taxied to the apron.
