Alaska B738 at Oakland on Nov 14th 2014, bird strike
An Alaska Airlines Boeing 737-800, registration N577AS performing flight AS-349 from Oakland,CA to Seattle,WA (USA) with 154 people on board, climbed out of Oakland's runway 30 when the crew reported they had just been hit by a large bird and lost "a fair amount of instruments", the aircraft levelled off at 5000 feet, the crew declared emergency but advised they didn't need assistance. The aircraft returned to Oakland for a safe landing on runway 30 about 20 minutes after departure.
A replacement Boeing 737-900 registration N464AS reached Seattle with a delay of 5:20 hours.
