Air Algerie B738 near Bordj Badji Mokhtar on Sep 16th 2014, suspected fuel leak
An Air Algerie Boeing 737-800, registration 7T-VJN performing flight AH-5009 from Bamako (Mali) to Algiers (Algeria) with 165 passengers and 7 crew, was enroute near Bordj Badji Mokthar (Algeria), about 930nm south of Algiers at the border of Mali and Algeria, when the crew suspected a fuel leak at the left hand wing tank and diverted to Bordj Badji Mokhtar for a safe landing at 06:34L (05:34Z).
The aircraft was checked and released to continue the flight after about 3 hours on the ground. The aircraft reached Algiers, scheduled arrival at 04:55L, with a total delay of 7 hours.
