Aer Lingus A320 at London on Jan 16th 2014, hard landing

A Aer Lingus Airbus A320-200 on behalf of Virgin Atlantic, registration EI-EZV performing flight VS-3048 from Manchester,EN to London Heathrow,EN (UK) with 47 people on board, approached Heathrow's runway 27L at about 15:05L (15:05Z), but touched down hard, rolled out without further incident and taxied to the apron.

The French BEA reported in their weekly bulletin that the aircraft experienced a "heavy landing". The occurrence was rated a serious incident, the British AAIB is investigating.

The incident aircraft was able to depart London about 3.5 hours after landing and performed flight VS-3043 to Manchester.
