Aegean A321 near Munich on May 1st 2014, cracked windshield

An Aegean Airlines Airbus A321-200, registration SX-DGQ performing flight A3-531 from Frankfurt/Main (Germany) to Thessaloniki (Greece) with 193 passengers, was enroute at FL330 about 50nm southsoutheast of Munich (Germany) just after crossing the border to Austria, when the crew donned their oxygen masks, declared PAN reporting a cracked windshield and decided to divert to Munich. The aircraft performed a normal descent to FL140, the crew reported they were now low enough and the outer pane of the windshield had cracked. The aircraft landed safely on Munich's runway 26L about 30 minutes after leaving FL330.

A replacement Airbus A321-200 registration SX-DVO reached Thessaloniki with a delay of 7:45 hours.

The incident aircraft was able to depart Munich with a new windshield the next day after about 21:15 hours on the ground and resumed service after landing in Athens.
