US Airways A332 near Philadelphia on May 4th 2014, severe turbulence injures 6
A US Airways Airbus A330-200, registration N287AY performing flight US-735 from Philadelphia,PA to Orlando,FL (USA) with 265 passengers and 10 crew, was climbing through about 16,000 feet out of Philadelphia with the fasten seat belt signs illuminated when the aircraft encountered brief severe turbulence for about 5 seconds causing injuries to four passengers and 2 flight attendants. The aircraft stopped the climb at 17,000 feet and returned to Philadelphia for a safe landing about 25 minutes after departure. The injured were taken to local hospitals.
A replacement Airbus A330-300 registration N276AY reached Orlando with a delay of 4:45 hours.
