EP-ASL with the nose in the ditchAn Iran Aseman Fokker 100, registration EP-ASL performing flight EP-773 from Tehran Mehrabad to Tabriz (Iran) with 103 passengers and 7 crew, overran runway 30R while landing during a thunderstorm and rain in Tabriz around 22:45L (18:15Z) and came to a stop in a ditch about 500 meters past the runway end and about 150 meters past the end of paved surface. The airplane was evacuated, the passengers were taken to the terminal about 10 minutes later. Two people received minor injuries. The airplane received substantial damage to its nose cone.

Tabriz Airport reported that all occupants were safely evacuated, no injuries occurred.

The airline confirmed the airplane suffered a runway excursion reporting some damage to the nose section of the aircraft. No injuries occurred.

Emergency services reported two people were treated on scene for minor injuries.

An all operators message by Fokker Services reports, that after touch down main tyres #2 and #4 burst. Although reverse thrust was selected the aircraft overran the end of the runway and came to a stop in a ditch about 150 meters past the paved surface of the runway. The passengers evacuated via slides. The aircraft sustained substantial damage to its forward pressure bulkhead, forward belly compartment and nose gear bay. The message said: "Reportedly the landing was performed in wet and windy conditions on a wet runway with one thrust reverser deactivated."

Fokker services continued that the investigation revealed the brake lines on the main gear were cross connected and a thrust reverser stop had been wrongly adjusted so that not more than idle thrust could be selected with one thrust reverser deactivated.

As result of the investigation a review of the documentation has been performed, one figure showing a wrong routing of the hydraulic lines was corrected. Additional easy checks were introduced to verify that the thrust reverser stop were correctly adjusted, a related service bulletin was released.

Tabriz's runway 12L/30R is 3556 meters/11800 feet long at an elevation of 4450 feet (1356 meters).
