Thai AirAsia A320 at Nakhon Si Thammarat on Aug 5th 2014, bird strike
A Thai AirAsia Airbus A320-200, registration HS-ABQ performing flight FD-3187 from Nakhon Si Thammarat to Bangkok Don Muang (Thailand) with 153 passengers and 6 crew, climbed out of Nakhon Si Thammarat's runway 36 when an engine (CFM56) ingested a bird prompting the crew to level off at 6000 feet and returned to Nakhon Si Thammarat for a safe landing on runway 36 about 35 minutes after departure.
A replacement Airbus A320-200 registration HS-ABV reached Bangkok with a delay of 4.5 hours.
Passengers reported the engine sound changed to become noisier shortly after becoming airborne and there were light vibrations.
