KLM Cityhopper F70 near Norwich on Dec 29th 2013, engine shut down in flight

A KLM Cityhopper Fokker 70, registration PH-KZP performing flight KL-1540 from Leeds,EN (UK) to Amsterdam (Netherlands), was enroute at FL260 about 60nm northwest of Norwich,EN (UK) when the crew needed to shut the right hand engine down. The aircraft diverted to Norwich for a safe landing on runway 27 about 20 minutes later.

The remainder of the flight was cancelled, the passengers were rebooked onto other flights.

A passenger reported that there was unusual noise and vibrations from the engine before it was shut down, the captain announced they needed to divert to Norwich.
